beside是一个表示方位的介词，意思是“在…旁边”，相当于near。要位于句首也可以，如：Beside the bed， there is a small round table. 在床边是一张小圆桌子。
也可以在beside和地点之后加上倒装句，如：Beside the tree sat a little boy. 树旁边坐着一个小男孩。
